Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh proposed Vietnam and India to take measures to fulfil the target of doubling two-way trade, investment, and tourism by 2030 during a meeting with Indian President Droupadi Murmu in New Delhi on August 1 as part of his State visit to India, the Vietnam News Agency has reported.
PM Chinh also recommended increasing the frequency of direct flights to facilitate exchanges between localities and their people.
PM Pham Minh Chinh expressed his hope for India's continued development.
He congratulated India on its remarkable strides in economy, sci-tech, national defense, infrastructure, and improving living standards.
He proposed India to continue supporting Vietnam in preferential credit packages, personnel training, and capacity-building.
President Murmu expressed her pleasure at the robust development of the bilateral relations in recent years.
She praised the outcomes of the talks between the two PMs, particularly the adoption of the joint statement on strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership and deepening cooperation based on the "Five Mores" principle, believing that the agreements signed during this visit will be actively carried out by both sides.
