Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh proposed Vietnam and Indonesia to soon raise the bilateral trade revenue to $18 billion in a more balanced manner, during a meeting with Indonesian Vice President Ma’ruf Amin on the sidelines of the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits and Related Summits in Laos on October 11, the Government News has reported.

The Vietnamese leader suggested the two sides to facilitate the investment by their businesses, and called on Indonesia to continue its coordination with Vietnam to minimize illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing activities.

Discussing future cooperation, the two leaders agreed to coordinate to effectively implement signed agreements and to soon build an action program for the new period with priorities given to food security, high-tech agriculture, electric vehicles, digital economy, green economy, and circular economy.   

The Indonesian leader noted that the bilateral relations will remain unchanged, and even grow more comprehensively in the future.
