Vietnam officially launched the 2026 Corporate Sustainability Index (CSI) Program in Ho Chi Minh City on May 22, aiming to promote sustainable business practices and recognize leading enterprises committed to long-term responsible growth.
The annual program is organized by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), with the Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD) serving as its core coordinating body.
Over the past 10 editions, the initiative has attracted more than 4,500 direct business participants, while over 10,000 companies have adopted the CSI framework as a self-assessment tool to guide sustainable business strategies.
The CSI framework is built on four key pillars: Economic, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG). It aligns closely with leading international standards, including GRI, ISSB, TCFD, CSR, and UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, while being tailored to Vietnam’s socio-economic context.
A notable feature of the CSI 2026 framework is its differentiated structure, designed to encourage participation from both large and medium-sized enterprises as well as small and micro-sized businesses.
This year, the program aims to identify and honor 100 outstanding sustainable enterprises. In addition to the traditional Top 10 awards for manufacturing and service companies, organizers will introduce new thematic awards to recognize pioneering businesses responding to global sustainability trends and Vietnam’s evolving development priorities.
