Vietnam was ranked 45th out of 133 economies in the Network Readiness Index (NRI), one of the leading global indices on the application and impact of information and communication technology (ICT) in economies around the world.

In its latest version of 2024, the NRI Report maped the network-based readiness landscape of 133 economies worldwide based on their performances in four different pillars: Technology, People, Governance, and Impact.

Among the group of lower-middle-income economies, Vietnam was ranked first. Meanwhile, it was 10th among Asia-Pacific ones.

The indicators where Vietnam had performed particularly well included e-commerce legislation, freedom to make life choices, mobile apps development, international Internet bandwidth , government promotion of emerging technology, domestic market scale and cyber security, according to the report.
