At the August 7 meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh urged identification of key measures to ensure flexible and effective responses to evolving challenges, including reciprocal US tariffs, and to achieve the ambitious 8.3–8.5% growth target for 2025.

In August, the Government revised the growth target from at least 8% (set in February) to 8.3-8.5%.

The proposals were made during Egyptian PM's meeting with Vietnamese President Luong Cuong, who is on a state visit to Egypt from August 3-6.

A Joint Statement on upgrading bilateral ties to Comprehensive Partnership was issued on August 5 as an outcome of Vietnamese President Luong Cuong’s State visit to Egypt between August 3-6.

The relationship between the two countries have been upgraded to Comprehensive Partnership.

The evaluations mark a key milestone in preparations for the operational launch of Long Thanh International Airport, scheduled in 2026.
