Growth in the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) was lower year-on-year in the first eleven months of 2021, mainly due to Covid-19. Annual growth will probably be around just 4-5 per cent, or half the targeted 8-9 per cent.

Argentina has donated 500,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine worth over $2 million to Vietnam. Ambassador of Argentina to Vietnam, H.E. Luis Pablo María Beltramino, said this is the first time the Argentinian Government has donated Covid-19 vaccines to another country.

Vietnam’s economic recovery and development program will focus on 2022 and 2023 but may take longer for some large-scale investment projects, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Quoc Phuong has said. The implementation of solutions will mainly involve fiscal and monetary tools.

The goal by 2025 is for agriculture to grow 2.5-3 per cent per year and for total export turnover of agriculture, forestry, and fishery products to reach $50 billion. Vietnam is striving to become a modern agriculture country by 2045.

The Vietnam Statistical Development Strategy for the 2021-2030 period and vision to 2045 aims to replace 85 per cent of paper questionnaires in the census with electronic questionnaires by 2025. By 2030, Vietnam’s statistics are to reach an advanced level in the ASEAN region and by 2045 will become a modern statistical system in the world.
