The Forum was held in Hanoi on December 12 as part of the official visit to Vietnam by Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet.
Prime Minister Chinh emphasized that Vietnam has signed 16 free trade agreements with more than 60 countries and territories and aims to attract quality investment and promote the digital economy, the green economy, the circular economy, and the knowledge-based economy.
He proposed that businesses and the governments of the two countries strengthen links between their economies, focusing on institutions, finance, transport infrastructure, electricity, telecommunications, and tourism.
They should also regularly share experience and offer support to each other in building policy, maintaining macro-economic sustainability, improving the business environment, and increasing their competitiveness in the region to attract quality foreign investment.
Prime Minister Chinh confirmed that Vietnam creates the best conditions possible for businesses of the two countries to effectively cooperate in investment and trade.
In his address to the Forum, Prime Minister Hun Manet said the Cambodian Government will make every effort to create more favorable conditions for foreign investors, including those from Vietnam, and called for more Vietnamese investment in Cambodia in high-tech agriculture, food processing, the digital technology, finance, and motor car manufacturing.
