Vietnam's instant noodles will be exempted from food safety control in EU from July 2 as the products meet EU related regulations, according to the Vietnam Sanitary and Phytosanitary Notification Authority and Enquiry Point (SPS).
However, the inspection frequency at border gates for the products remains at 20%.
The move will help facilitate the product’s entry into the EU and other global markets, Deputy Director of SPS Vietnam Ngo Xuan Nam said.
Additionally, the EU has modified the inspection guidelines for other farm produce from Vietnam.
The frequency of inspections for dragon fruit at the border has been raised from 20% to 30%.
Meanwhile, the frequency of inspections for chili peppers, okra and durians is 50%, 50% and 10%, respectively.
