Vietnam’s agro-forestry-fishery export value was estimated at $23.04 billion in the first four months of 2026, marking a year-on-year rise of 5.4%, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.
In April alone, export revenue reached an estimated $6.05 billion, down 3.8% from March and 0.8% compared to the same period last year.
Agricultural products accounted for the largest share at $12.16 billion, a modest increase of 1.5%. Livestock exports posted the strongest growth, surging 45.5% to $245 million. Fisheries exports rose 11.9% to $3.59 billion, while forestry products generated $5.82 billion, up 0.8%.
Asia remained Vietnam’s largest export market, accounting for 44.1% of total turnover. The Americas and Europe followed with shares of 20.9% and 15.8%, respectively. Export value to Asia increased 11.5%, while shipments to Europe and Oceania grew 3.7% and 19.8%. In contrast, exports to the Americas and Africa declined by 3.5% and 26%, respectively.
China continued to be the largest importer of Vietnam’s agro-forestry-fishery products, accounting for 21.1% of total exports, followed by the US (18.5%) and Japan (7%). Exports to China surged 28.8%, while shipments to Japan rose slightly by 1.3%. Meanwhile, exports to the US fell 4.8%.
