Devday Da Nang 2023, the biggest IT event in Vietnam, opened in central Da Nang city on April 22 after a three-year disruption due to Covid-19.

The event attracted more than 45 domestic and foreign companies introducing their latest technologies and products.

It also attracted about 50 renowned speakers from fields such as blockchain, cloud computing, cybersecurity, information technology, and career orientation, along with more than 20,000 students, programmers, software engineers, and others.

The event provided a platform for IT professionals, researchers, students, and enthusiasts to exchange ideas, knowledge, and insights on new trends and developments in the IT industry.

It also featured workshops with the participation of domestic and foreign IT experts sharing academic and specialized knowledge on technology.

Director of the Da Nang Department of Information and Communications Nguyen Quang Thanh said the city’s information and communication sector earned revenue of VND34.3 trillion ($1.44 billion) in 2022. Software expert turnover totaled $132 million, up 34 per cent year-on-year.

Its digital economy contributed 17 per cent to the city’s GRDP.

Da Nang has 2.3 digital technology enterprises per 1,000 people, which is three-times higher than the national average and ranks it second in the country after Ho Chi Minh City. It also has three high-tech zones.
