Green SM Bike, Vietnam’s first pure electric motorbike taxi service, was officially launched on August 14 by the Green and Smart Mobility Joint Stock Company (GSM), following the roll-out of its e-taxi hailing service last April.

Speaking at the launch ceremony of Green SM Bike in Hanoi, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, General Director of GSM, highlighted the great significance of the launch. “After only four months of operations, we became the world’s first all-electric carrier,” he told the ceremony. “In parallel with the plan to expand the electric taxi service to 27 cities and provinces and three countries, GSM plans to cover electric motorbike services in five cities and provinces with 60,000 vehicles in 2023.”

The implementation of the mobility solution by electric bike marks a strong step forward for GSM in promoting the government’s goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2050.

In the first phase, Green SM Bike drivers will use VinFast Feliz S electric motorbikes, painted in its signature Cyan blue color. In the next stages, the company will add Evo 200 electric motorbikes to its fleet. The price for the first 2 km with Green SM Bike is VND13,800 ($0.58), equivalent to VND6,900 ($0.29) per km. From the 3rd km, the fare is VND4,800 ($0.20) per km. Customers in Hanoi can easily book Green SM taxi services through the Green SM app, available on the App Store and Google Play.

On this occasion, GSM also launched a new service called “Green 2 School”, which is intended to take students to school at flexible times on electric motorcycles or by fixed routes with electric cars. The service ensures that parents will be at ease with their children’s safety by using a tracking system, real-time itinerary updates, and reports after each completed trip.
