Vietnam's Index of Industrial Production (IIP) rose 10.4% in the first two months of 2026 compared with the same period last year, according to the National Statistics Office (NSO).
Manufacturing and processing continued to play a key role in driving the country’s industrial growth, with the sector expanding 11.5% year-on-year. The strong performance reflects improving domestic consumption and steady demand from export markets.
Several other industries also recorded robust growth. Production of non-metallic mineral products and basic metals increased by 33.1% and 27.9%, respectively. Beverage manufacturing, paper production and motor vehicle manufacturing grew by 20.9%, 20.4% and 20.3%, respectively, while chemical production rose by 20.1%.
Industrial production expanded across all 34 provinces and cities nationwide, with some localities posting strong growth thanks to rapid expansion in manufacturing and electricity production.
