The city’s Department of Industry and Trade believes the growth in the Index of Industrial Production demonstrates a clear recovery in the local economy.
According to the General Statistics Office, the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) in October increased 3 per cent over the previous month and 6.3 per cent over October last year. Processing and manufacturing rose 5.7 per cent, mining 6.3 per cent, and electricity production and distribution 10.5 per cent. The IIP for the first ten months is estimated to have increased 9 per cent year-on-year.
The Ho Chi Minh City Statistics Office has reported that the city’s Index of Industrial Production (IIP) increased 0.9 per cent in July compared to June and 53.2 per cent year-on-year. Total budget revenue in the city in the first seven months of 2022 represented 73.2 per cent of the annual estimate and increased 20 per cent year-on-year.
Industrial production continued to recover in the first five months of 2022, according to the General Statistics Office, with the index of industrial production (IIP) increasing 8.3 per cent year-on-year, in which processing and manufacturing continued to be the driving force of growth, rising 9.2 per cent.
