Vietnam’s total retail sales of consumer goods and services reached over VND5.17 quadrillion ($195 billion) in the first nine months of 2025, marking a 9.5% year-on-year increase, according to the National Statistics Office, under the Ministry of Finance.
Of the total, retail sales of goods were estimated at VND3.94 quadrillion ($148.6 billion), up 8.3% year-on-year. Several key categories recorded strong growth, with food and foodstuffs up 10.3%, garments up 8.2%, cultural and educational products up 8.1%, and household appliances and tools up 6.7%.
Revenue from accommodation and catering services totaled VND624 trillion ($23.54 billion), increasing 14.8% year-on-year, while tourism and travel services soared 20.5% to VND69.6 trillion ($2.62 billion).
In September alone, total retail sales of consumer goods and services were estimated at VND598.7 trillion ($22.59 billion), up 2% from August and 11.3% higher than the same month last year.
