Vietnam earned nearly $542 million from tuna exports in the first seven months of this year, a 3% decline compared to the same period in 2024, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).

Vietnamese tuna products are now present in more than 100 countries and territories.

The United States remained the largest market with $205 million in export value in the seven-month period, down 1% year-on-year, followed by the European Union with $126 million, up 2%. Canada and Japan recorded strong growth, with imports rising 18% and 15%, to $23 million and $22 million, respectively.

The sector has set an export target of $1 billion for 2025, after earning $989 million last year, a surge of 17% from 2023.
