Vietur wins bid to build Long Thanh airport terminal

Vietur, a consortium of ten major domestic and foreign construction groups, has won a bidding package to build the passenger terminal (Package No. 5.10) at Long Thanh International Airport in southern Dong Nai province, the Airports Corporation of Vietnam announced on August 24.

The consortium is led by Turkish conglomerate IC Ictas.

The other members of Vietur are all Vietnamese construction companies: Ricons, Newtecons, Sol E&C, Construction Corporation No. 1, Vinaconex, Hanoi Construction Corporation, Phuc Hung Holdings, ATAD, and Hawee.

Package No. 5.10 - the biggest in the first phase - includes design, construction, and equipment installation at the terminal, with capital estimated at more than VND35 trillion ($1.46 billion).

Construction of the terminal is scheduled to kick off on August 26 and will last 39 months.

The terminal is expected to be put into operation in 2026 and be able to cater to 25 million passengers and handle 1.2 million tons of cargo a year.
