Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed a Decision on August 2 to establish a working group to implement the Vietnam-Singapore Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Green-Digital Economic Partnership.

The working group will be led by Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung.

The MoU was signed between the two sides on February 9, 2023 during the official visit to Singapore by Prime Minister Chinh.

Vietnam and Singapore will promote the sharing of management experience and initiatives in three key areas of digital transformation: digital government, digital economy, and digital society.

Singapore will offer its expertise to help Vietnam’s digital transformation, especially in priority areas such as e-commerce, banking and finance, and population management.

The two will cooperate to develop and connect digital governments, digital economy, and digital society, including sharing and connecting national data on products, means of transport, and trade, with the aim of gradually completing procedures on import and export activities between the two countries via digital platforms.

Regarding the green economy, Singapore will help Vietnam in its fair energy transition, towards zero emissions by 2050.

The working group will study and propose to the Prime Minister orientations and solutions to deal with important issues relating to the implementation of the MoU.
