Total retail sales of consumer goods and services in November were estimated at over VND522.7 trillion ($21.7 billion), up 10.1 per cent year-on-year, the General Statistics Office of Vietnam has reported.
The increase was attributed to the rising consumption demand for food, cultural and education products, tourism, accommodation, and catering services.
Trade activities have become more robust in preparation for year-end festivities.
In the first eleven months of the year, total retail sales of consumer goods and services reached over VND5.66 quadrillion ($235 billion), rising 9.6 per cent compared to the same period last year.
Revenue from accommodation and catering services increased 15.3 per cent during the period while tourism and travel services jumped 50.5 per cent.
The total retail sales of goods in the eleven-month period was estimated at over VND4.420 quadrillion ($184 billion), accounting for 78 per cent of total sales of goods and services and up 8.6 per cent year-on-year.
