Agro-forestry-aquatic product exports harvested $34.27 billion in the first seven months of 2024, a year-on-year growth of 18.8%, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).
In July alone, the export value of these products stood at $5.11 billion, up 18.2% compared to the same period last year.
In the January-July period, key products that gained high export values included wood and wood products with $8.7 billion, coffee $3.5 billion, rice $3.2 billion, cashew nuts $2.3 billion, fruits and vegetable $3.8 billion, shrimp $2 billion and tra fish $1.02 billion.
Export prices of some products increased significantly such as rice reaching $632 per ton, up 18%; coffee $3,669 per ton, 52%; rubber $1,555 per ton, 15%; and pepper $4,665 per ton, 45%.
The US, China and Japan remained the three largest export markets of Vietnamese agro-forestry-aquatic products.
