The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment is accelerating the development of 12 national and sectoral databases on agriculture and environment to advance digital transformation across the sector.
At a meeting of the ministry’s steering committee on March 9, Minister Tran Duc Thang stressed the importance of establishing a comprehensive national database system on agriculture, particularly a land database that serves as a core foundation for management and policymaking.
So far, four information systems have been put into operation and 21 databases have been built, meeting requirements of being accurate, complete, clean, updated, unified and shareable. Notably, the national geographic database and the national land database have already been connected to the National Data Center C12.
Mr. Thang urged agencies to accelerate the completion of land data, improve the efficiency of science and technology tasks, and streamline procedures by decentralising authority and removing unnecessary business conditions. The move aims to strengthen governance, maximise resources and support sustainable national development.
