The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has asked relevant agencies to tighten control over order, security, and transportation during the 2023 Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday.

Airlines were instructed to arrange more night flights to meet increasing travel demand and to develop plans and measures to minimize flight delays and cancellations.

The CAAV also requested that its subordinate bodies strengthen internal inspections and supervision over service provision by taxi companies allowed to operate at airports. Strict punishment will be meted out to drivers reported to be cheating or overcharging passengers.

It also ordered airports to urgently complete the maintenance of infrastructure and strictly comply with regulations and measures to ensure security and safety for under-construction maintenance works.
