On May 16, the Airport Services Company of Viet Nam (ASV), the owner of ASV Airports Taxi, signed a contract with the Green and Smart Moving Joint Stock Company (GSM) to lease VinFast’s electric vehicles (EVs) for use as airport taxis.
It will lease 500 Vinfast EVs from GSM for a period of 36 months, which may be extended depending on actual needs. It is expected that ASV’s electric taxi service will officially go into operation this month.
With a scale of up to 500 electric taxis, passengers traveling to airports around the country will have more transportation options with green, smart EVs from ASV Airports Taxi.
According to Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung, Chairman and General Director of ASV, the lease of 500 VinFast EVs with GSM is of great significance and an important turning point in its development strategy of officially switching to EVs for passenger transport services.
Mr. Hung also noted that EVs possess many advantages, including no gasoline smells, no engine noise, and no smoke, and are equipped with many smart technologies to enhance the customer experience and significantly reduce emissions, contributing to environmental protection. “That is not only ASV’s commitment to customers but also its mission, joining hands to realize the national goal of dealing with climate change,” he said.
Other enterprises such as Lado, Ahamove, and Golden Swallow have also signed cooperation agreements with GSM to conduct passenger transport services using EVs in Lam Dong, Binh Dinh, Da Nang, Hai Phong and other cities and provinces around the country.
