The ceiling price on domestic flight tickets increased by 5 per cent from March 1 under a circular issued by the Ministry of Transport (MoT) in December.

The ceiling price on one-way flights between 500 and 850 km will rise by VND50,000 ($2.04) to VND2.25 million ($92).

Flights between 850 and 1,000 km will see the maximum rise by VND100,000 ($4.08) to VND2.89 million ($118).

The ceiling on flights between 1,000 km and 1,280 km and over 1,280 km, meanwhile, will increase to VND3.4 million ($138) and VND4 million ($166), respectively.

Routes of less than 500 km will have price capped at VND1.6 million ($65).

The MoT said the adjustments have been made based on an assessment of costs, the market situation, and other related factors.
