South Korean female-owned enterprises are looking forward to cooperating with their Vietnamese counterparts in a range of fields in the time to come, Mr. Shin Baek Sun from the INNOBIZ Women Entrepreneurs Committee under INNOBIZ - the South Korean innovation business association - said at a meeting with Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Minh, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Women Entrepreneurs Council (VWEC).

Female-owned enterprises belonging to the Committee expect to cooperate with Vietnamese female-owned entrepreneurs in medicinal herb farming, hospital construction, education, and information technology, according to Mr. Baek Sun. The construction of public toilets and nursing centers are also areas where INNOBIZ members are interested in cooperating with Vietnamese female entrepreneurs, and these will be sponsored by South Korean female-owned enterprises. They also expressed a priority in supporting Vietnamese businesses owned by female entrepreneurs who live alone, are divorced, or raise children alone.

The VWEC, meanwhile, is looking forward to exporting products from Vietnamese female-owned enterprises to South Korea, especially apparel. It will also act as a bridge connecting INNOBIZ with female-owned enterprises in ASEAN. Ms. Minh emphasized that the two sides should further strengthen their links so that businesses from the two countries have the opportunity to learn from each other’s experience.

The Council also expects to receive more information on the capacity, cooperation, and investment needs of South Korean female-owned enterprises in Vietnam, to facilitate appraisals. “Receiving sufficient information will help the connecting role of the VWEC and the INNOBIZ Women Entrepreneurs Committee for businesses on the two sides,” Ms. Minh said.
