The People’s Council of central Da Nang city has approved a project worth more than VND200 billion ($8 million) to develop a computing infrastructure for semiconductor chip design and artificial intelligence (AI) research.

Scheduled for implementation between 2025 and 2028, the project will be located on the second floor of the ICT Building’s Data Center in Da Nang Software Park No. 2, Hai Chau District.

At its core will be a High-Performance Computing (HPC) system, serving as the technological backbone for AI applications and semiconductor design activities.

Once operational, the project is expected to foster start-ups, attract investors, and connect regional universities to support research, training, and innovation in chip design and AI.

It will also act as a catalyst for Da Nang’s digital transformation, reinforcing the city’s position as a key hub in Vietnam’s emerging semiconductor and AI ecosystem.
