Da Nang welcomes 7.39 million tourists in 2023

Central city earns tourism revenue of $1.16 billion, up 44%.

Central Da Nang city welcomed over 7.39 million tourists in 2023, double the figure posted last year, according to the city’s Tourism Department.

International tourists totaled 1.98 million, a 4.2-fold increase year-on-year.

Revenue from accommodation, catering, and travel services reached nearly VND28 trillion ($1.16 billion), up 44 per cent compared to last year.

Da Nang saw a sharp rise in the number of tourists arriving in the city by sea, welcoming 22 cruise ships with over 18,000 visitors.

It currently hosts seven domestic air routes and 16 international air routes. There were 40,000 flights to Da Nang conducted in 2023, with over 6.3 million passengers.

The city targets welcoming 8.42 million tourists next year, up 13.8 per cent compared to 2023. International visitors are expected to total 5.92 million.

Tourism revenue is to stand at more than VND30.8 trillion ($1.28 billion).
