Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang attended the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) in Gujarat, India, on January 10, according to a report from the Government News.

The Deputy Prime Minister is Vietnam’s first high-ranking leader to attend the event, affirming the country’s policy of attaching importance to relations with India and advocating initiatives and forums hosted by India in the interests of both sides and the international community.

Addressing the Summit, the Deputy Prime Minister hailed content focusing on new development drivers and trends, including the green economy, the circular economy, the digital economy, and smart cities, adding that these are priorities of Vietnam during its development and international integration process.

He called on governments to create a policy and legal framework and an investment and business environment that is favorable, stable, transparent, and fair while launching strategies and plans consistently.

Public investment capital needs to play a leading role, he went on, emphasizing the necessity of effectively attracting resources from the private sector and foreign investment.

Developed countries should increase support for developing countries in terms of capital, technology transfer, techniques, modern management, and human resource training, he recommended.

As a fast-growing and dynamic economy and the fifth-largest economy in the world, India can increasingly promote its leading role in this process, the Deputy Prime Minister said.

The traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and India have continuously developed across all sectors, he noted, adding that Vietnam values the effective assistance India has provided in human resources training, science and technology development, energy transition, and digital transformation.

Vietnam always welcomes and stands ready to facilitate Indian enterprises to launch long-term investment and business in the country, he confirmed.
