Total retail sales of consumer goods and services in the first nine months of 2026 reached an estimated VND5.93 quadrillion (nearly $228 billion) at current prices, up 13.4% year-on-year, according to the National Statistics Office.

Excluding the price factor, real retail growth stood at 7.8%, outpacing the 7.2% expansion recorded in the same period of 2025.

In the third quarter of 2026 alone, total retail sales of consumer goods and services were estimated at over VND2 quadrillion ($78.4 billion), rising 3.3% quarter-on-quarter and 14.5% year-on-year. In September, revenue reached an estimated VND690.6 trillion ($26.6 billion), sustaining a 1.7% increase over August and expanding 14.1% compared to September 2025. These figures demonstrate that domestic trade momentum has progressed smoothly and steadily across each successive quarter.
