Southern Dong Nai city has set a target of welcoming 11.5 million visitors and achieving tourism revenue of VND11.95 trillion ($454 million) by 2030.
The goal is part of a Resolution outlining plans to develop tourism into a major economic sector and positioning the city as a leading tourism destination in the country's southeastern and southern regions by 2030.
The Resolution, which has been freshly approved by the city’s Party Committee, aims to build Dong Nai into a high-quality, attractive and sustainable destination.
By 2035, the city aims to attract 20 million visitors, including 19.4 million domestic and 600,000 international tourists. Tourism service revenue is expected to reach VND24 trillion, with average annual growth of 15.4%.
To achieve these targets, Dong Nai plans to attract investment in priority areas, develop distinctive tourism products and diversify tourism offerings.
