Dong Nai province enjoys economic recovery in 1H

The socio-economic situation of southern Dong Nai province recovered significantly in the first half of the year with a GRDP growth of 6.8% compared to the same period last year, according to the provincial Statistics Office.

The recovery was recorded in most of sectors, particularly agriculture, industry, construction and services.

The Index of Industrial Production (IIP) rose 6.62% year-on-year.

The province attracted nearly $926.2 million of FDI capital during the six-month period. There were 47 new FDI projects worth over $565 million in total.

More than new 2,000 enterprises were established with a total registered capital of VND15 trillion ($589 million).

Total export revenue reached over $11.34 billion, a year-on-year surge of 9.05%. Meanwhile, the import value was estimated at over $8.27 billion.

As a result, the province recorded a trade surplus of more than $3 billion.

The province’s key export markets are the US, Japan, China and South Korea.
