A range of trade promotion activities between businesses from Vietnam and 20 countries and territories around the world is taking place at the 2023 Vietfood & Beverage - Propack Vietnam expo in Ho Chi Minh City from August 10 to 12.
More than 700 food and beverage (F&B) businesses are showcasing products, services, and technologies and accessing product introduction and market expansion opportunities at the 27th expo.
Highlights include ten international pavilions set up by companies from mainland China, Greece, Indonesia, India, Poland, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan (China), and Thailand.
A report released in August 2022 by consultants Mordor Intelligence Inc. found that Vietnam’s F&B industry is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 8.65 per cent in the 2021-2026 period.
In Ho Chi Minh City, the F&B sector is regarded as one of four key industries in the local economy, accounting for nearly 13.8 per cent of industrial production value. The sector maintained annual average growth of 7 per cent in the 2018-2022 period.
Deputy Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Vo Van Hoan said the city has been helping F&B businesses apply new and advanced technologies to create high-quality products and high added value.
He said the expo aims to contribute to promoting consumption and business production and development.
It also includes seminars, B2B business matchmaking events, and field trips to industrial parks.
