The annual Vietnam - Korea Mega Us Expo 2024 opened in Ho Chi Minh City on August 22, connecting Vietnamese and Korean markets.

The three-day event features over 200 booths, showcasing over 600 advanced products, technologies, and services, ranging from food and cosmetics to technology and lifestyle.

The expo also attracted the participation of over 30 centers and organizations’ supporting innovative startups, universities, and government agencies involved in business and startup innovation from South Korea.

The event was organized with the aim of connecting the startup and innovation ecosystem of Ho Chi Minh City with startups and businesses from the RoK, according to Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People’s Committee Tran Dieu Thuy.

This is also an opportunity for Vietnamese startups to meet and call for investment from investment funds and investors from the RoK and some neighboring countries, she said.

Ho Chi Minh City boasts the most dynamic ecosystem in Vietnam, with over half of the country's startups and 40% of the incubators and startup support facilities. The city also accounts for 44% of the venture capital and over 60% of the successful deals nationwide, according to Ms. Thuy.

The event offers an opportunity for Vietnamese enterprises to seek partnership and investment cooperation with foreign partners.

The event is expected to attract 5,000 visitors and facilitate 1,500 business matchings.
