Finance ministry to provide legal aid to SMEs

Trâm Anh -

Support to focus on tax, securities, insurance, corporate finance, and banking this year.

The Ministry of Finance has issued a plan to provide legal support to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in 2023.

This year’s support will focus on tax, securities, insurance, corporate finance, and banking.

The ministry will regularly hold dialogues with SMEs to hear of their difficulties and provide instructions on implementing regulations and developing solutions to tackle problems. Consultancy will be provided in writing, by phone, or online.

The ministry said SMEs still face difficulties in accessing legal aid programs and services while legal support and consulting activities are not effective in some places, making businesses, particularly small businesses, confused when adopting and applying legal regulations.

The plan aims to help businesses access accurate, complete, and appropriate legal information and financial regulations in line with needs.

The government issued a decree on providing legal support to SMEs on June 24, 2019.

The decree asked ministries and ministerial-level agencies to update the database of legal documents relating to SMEs, develop plans to provide them with consultancy, and place tabs on legal support on their e-portals.
