The selling price of SJC-branded gold bars hit a new all-time high of VND124.4 million ($4,730) per tael on August 8.
One tael equals 37.5 grams, or 1.2 ounces.
This marked an increase of VND400,000 ($15.2) per tael compared to the previous day.
The price exceeding the historic high set in April this year at VND124 million ($4,714) per tael.
Meanwhile, the selling price of plain gold rings reached VND119.8 million ($4,555) per tael, up VND500,000 ($19) per tael compared to the previous day.
In the global market, the gold prices on August 8 jumped 0.15% to $3,400.3 per ounce. At this level, gold prices in Vietnam stand at around VND14.46 million ($549) a tael higher than the global price.
