Vietnam National Innovation Day 2026 will take place in Hanoi in early October, featuring a series of forums, exhibitions, and matchmaking activities among enterprises, investors, and research institutes, marking the annual National Innovation Day observed on October 1.
Under the theme "Innovation – Driver of Development for the Entire Society," major activities are scheduled to take place in Hanoi during the peak week running from late September through early October.
The celebration ceremony for National Innovation Day 2026 is slated for October 4. On the occasion, the Ministry of Science and Technology (MST) plans to release the 2026 Annual Innovation Report, unveil the 2026 Provincial Innovation Index (PII), and present awards to 2026 "Scientific Initiatives" competition winners.
Alongside the celebration ceremony, a series of events features three major forums: the National Forum on the Future of Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation; the Forum on Innovation in Finance and Banking; and the Greater Mekong Subregion Innovation Forum (GMS Innovation Forum).
Another highlight is the National Technology and Innovation Exhibition 2026 (Vietnam InnoShow 2026), showcasing pioneering technologies, products, and innovative solutions.
Additionally, networking sessions will connect businesses, investors, research institutes, universities, innovative startups, and partners to promote technology adoption, tech transfer, and investment collaboration.
According to the plan, the event aims to bring the spirit of innovation closer to citizens, businesses, and organizations, while raising public awareness of the vital role played by science, technology, and innovation in socioeconomic development and enhancing living standards.
Another primary focus is connecting all components of the innovation ecosystem—spanning regulatory authorities, enterprises, research institutes, and universities to financial institutions, investment funds, and specialists. This enables stakeholders to unlock collaboration opportunities, pool resources, and initiate new ventures and projects.
The National Innovation Day 2026 also seeks to bring research findings and technologies into real-world application by advancing technology transfer and commercialization. Advanced and mastered technologies with high commercial potential will be showcased and matched with business and market demands.
Notably, the MST aims to bridge the event with the overseas Vietnamese scientific community and international experts through digital platforms and novel organizational formats.
