The first regular flight conducted by Vietnam Airlines and carrying more than 100 passengers from Beijing to Hanoi was conducted on March 19 after a three-year postponement due to Covid-19.
Vietnam Airlines is now operating three round-trip flights a week between Hanoi and Beijing, with frequency to increase in mid-2023.
China is one of Vietnam Airlines’ largest international markets. The national flag carrier has now resumed most of its flights to destinations in China, including from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Guangzhou and Shanghai and between Hanoi and Beijing.
It plans to reopen four more routes between Da Nang and Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Chengdu and between Hanoi and Chengdu.
