Hanoi generated jobs for 178,747 workers in the first nine months of 2024, exceeding its annual plan by 8.3%, according to the municipal Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.
In September alone, 14,600 workers were employed. The city also supported over 4,200 workers to go to work abroad under contracts in different markets such as Taiwan (China), the Republic of Korea and Japan.
The city’s Employment Service Center organized 20 job transaction sessions in September with 10,986 positions in demand job list from 644 participating agencies and businesses. Of the total job seekers, 1,480 were employed. In the nine-month period, the center helped over 13,500 workers to find jobs.
In the first nine months of the year, nearly 59,000 workers received unemployment insurance, totaling over VND1.79 trillion ($70 million).
