Ho Chi Minh City has set a target of 87 per cent of its workforce being trained by 2025 and 89 per cent by 2030, according to Deputy Chairman of the city’s People’s Committee Duong Anh Duc.
Human resources quality will be a key factor helping the city develop sustainably, he added.
The southern city will enhance vocational training to improve the quality of its human resources, focusing on high technology, automation, and bio-technology in order to provide human resources for strategic investors.
There are currently 370 vocational training facilities in the city, providing some 125,000 graduates for the labor market each year.
The city targets having all vocational training facilities training human resources at regional and international standards for key sectors and using training programs and materials shared by well-known vocational schools around the world.
