Ho Chi Minh City’s retail and wholesale sectors have witnessed robust growth in the first nine months of the year, according to the Voice of Vietnam (VOV).

The southern city’s total retail sales of goods and consumer services in the first nine months are estimated at over VND872 trillion ($35.3 billion), up 10.5% year-over-year. Of this, retail sales of goods are estimated at nearly VND413.2 trillion ($16.8 billion), up 11% year-over-year. The purchasing index has improved significantly, signaling positive expectations for the fourth quarter.

The city has also supported associations and businesses in finding markets and industrial production enterprises in creating jobs, increasing employees’ incomes, and boosting consumption.

In the coming time, especially ahead of the New Year and Lunar New Year 2025, the Department of Trade and Industry will organize promotion campaigns to stimulate local trade growth.
