Northern Hoa Binh province targets welcoming 3.5 million visitors, including 450,000 foreign visitors, and earning VND3.9 trillion ($165 million) from tourism in 2023.

To that end, it continues to mobilize investment for infrastructure, in particular the construction of traffic routes to tourism destinations, and will restore and preserve cultural and historical relics and tourism attractions and support the development of community-based tourism.

It is seeking investment in green tourism and in developing high-quality tourism products, and will connect with neighboring localities to diversify tour offerings. The province will focus on developing tourism destinations associated with typical local agricultural products.

Local authorities have also called for stricter management. Any mode of transport, by water or land, that fails to meet safety standards and is unregistered will be banned from operation.

Hoa Binh welcomed 3.1 million tourists in 2022, up 211.6 per cent compared to 2021, with total tourism revenue reaching VND3.6 billion ($153 million).
