Hue Premium Silica Company Limited (HPS) officially inaugurated its new expansion project for the high-quality low-iron quartz sand and powder processing plant on August 29, in Phong Thai Ward, central Hue City.
The project represents a total investment of VND800 billion (nearly $30.4 million).
Spanning an area of 7.3 ha, the project has an initial design capacity of 440,000 tons per year. Upon full operation, the total capacity of the main products for the entire Hue Premium Silica Plant will reach 880,000 tons per year.
When operational, the project will supply raw materials for high-grade glass manufacturing industries in Vietnam, such as solar panels, TFT glass, ultra-clear glass, and tempered glass.
In addition, HPS products aim to conquer demanding international markets, including Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia, and will continue to expand to many others.
The silica products boast low iron content, under 80ppm, 60ppm, and even 40ppm, meeting strict international standards and possessing strong competitiveness in the global market.
Vietnamese engineers have fully mastered the most advanced European technology, operating a 100% automated production line with a localization rate of 60%. All machinery and equipment are of the latest generation from the EU/G7, with the automation system supplied by Siemens (Germany).
