The People's Committee of Hue city in central Vietnam has sent a document to the Ministry of Construction requesting review and feedback on the investment policy approval dossier for the construction of Berth No. 1 and Berth No. 2 within the Phong Dien Port Area.
The Berth No. 1 project will be implemented in Phong Phu Ward, with a total investment capital of approximately VND1.95 trillion ($74 million) and will be divided into two phases.
In Phase 1 (2026–2030), the project will involve the construction of two piers with a total length of 340m (170m each) and other important components. Pier No. 1 will be capable of receiving vessels up to 10,000 tons, while Pier No. 2 will accommodate vessels of 5,000 tons.
In Phase 2 (2031–2035), depending on cargo growth demand, the project will invest in an additional Pier No. 3 and No. 4, totaling 560m in length, capable of receiving vessels up to 50,000 tons.
Also located in Phong Phu Ward, the Berth No. 2 project has a total investment capital of approximately VND4.495 trillion ($171 million), also to be divided into two phases from 2026 to 2035.
Upon completion, the entire port area will have 8 piers with a total length of 1,720m and a designed capacity of approximately 10.32 million tons/year.
