Vietnam’s information and communications sector posted revenue of over VND367 trillion ($15.3 billion) in September, a year-on-year increase of 17 per cent, according to the Ministry of Information and Communications.
The figure brought total turnover in the first nine months of the year to more than VND2.65 quadrillion ($110 billion).
The information and communications technology (ICT) industry recorded turnover of VND2.3 quadrillion ($96 billion) in the period, down 2 per cent year-on-year, including $85.4 billion from exporting hardware and electronics, down 5 per cent.
Computers, electronic products and components; and phones and spare parts remained two of 12 groups of products posting high export value.
The export of computers, electronic products, and components reached $41.3 billion, down 4.2 per cent year-on-year, and phones and spare parts $39.5 billion, down 8.7 per cent, figures from the General Department of Vietnam Customs show.
