2023 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan. Over these five decades, the two countries have deepened their extensive strategic partnership, while Vietnam’s investment environment is expected to lead to closer ties in their economic relationship.
Twenty-eight years after the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1995, Vietnam and the US are trusted partners with a friendship grounded in mutual respect. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam-US Comprehensive Partnership. On September 10, Vietnam and the US announced the establishment of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace, Cooperation, and Sustainable Development, a major, historic upgrade from the current Comprehensive Partnership.
Fifty years ago, France became the first Western country to establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam, laying a foundation for bilateral cooperation in the time since. The relationship has grown steadily in all fields and over many generations, especially in the context of this year being the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the 10th anniversary of the signing of the bilateral strategic partnership agreement.
