The first Vietnam International Logistics Exhibition (VILOG) opened in Ho Chi Minh City on August 10, gathering together leaders from the global logistics industry, the Cong Thuong (Industry and Trade) online newspaper has reported.

Around 250 businesses from 22 countries and territories are showcasing products and technologies at the three-day event, including those relating to transport, delivery, warehouse and stevedoring services, packaging, and IT application in logistics, according to the organizers.

The expo presents a great opportunity for domestic and international logistics service businesses as well as the community of investors, developers, and other stakeholders to exchange, cooperate, consult, and select solutions to optimize the logistics procedures of enterprises.

A series of workshops and B2B activities will be held on the sidelines of the expo to help businesses explore new trends in the industry.

Deputy Director of the Department of Export and Import at the Ministry of Industry and Trade Tran Thanh Hai said the event is being organized to implement the action plan on improving the competitiveness and development of logistics services in Vietnam by 2025.

It is the first large-scale international logistics exhibition held in Vietnam, marking the sector’s efforts in international integration, he said.
