HCMC"s Ring Road No. 3 one step closer
Ho Chi Minh City and the nearby provinces of Dong Nai, Binh Duong, and Long An have signed a regulation on coordinating in the construction of Ring Road No. 3, with six main groups of tasks. Construction is expected to get underway in June 2023 and be completed in June 2026.
Thanh Hoa proposes upgrades for Tho Xuan Airport
North-central Thanh Hoa province has proposed expansions and upgrades to infrastructure at Tho Xuan Airport costing a total of more than VND3.6 trillion ($154 million). The airport currently has only one runway and already exceeds its designed capacity of 1.2 million passengers a year, with passenger numbers expected to hit 1.6 million by the end of this year.
$1.69bln for Cam Ranh Airport to 2050
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has submitted adjusted planning for Cam Ranh International Airport in south-central Khanh Hoa province in the 2021-2030 period and vision to 2050 to the Ministry of Transport (MoT) for approval. Capital needed for the airport is expected to reach VND39.37 trillion ($1.69 billion).
Upgrades for National Highway 14E in Quang Nam
The Directorate for Roads of Vietnam is urgently implementing a project to upgrade National Highway No. 14E, stretching 74 km through central Quang Nam province, with total investment of more than VND1.8 trillion ($77.1 million) from the State budget. The project is expected to be completed in 2025.
PM calls for Ninh Binh - Nam Dinh - Thai Binh - Hai Phong Expressway to be built in PPP form
The Prime Minister (PM) has called for the 109-km Ninh Binh - Nam Dinh - Thai Binh - Hai Phong Expressway to be built in the public-private partnership (PPP) form instead of public investment, due to limited State budget funds. The project will be driving force for the development of the region to the south of Hanoi, the Red River Delta, and the north-central region.
