Total electricity generation in February stood at 20.22 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 9.4 per cent, Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) reports.
The figure brings the total in the first two months of the year to 38.61 billion kWh.
Hydropower accounted for 27.4 per cent, coal-fired thermal power 42.7 per cent, gas turbines 11.2 per cent, and renewable energy 16.7 per cent.
Transmission output reached 30.53 billion kWh in the first two months, up 0.2 per cent year-on-year.
EVN focused during the period on implementing projects to expand the Hoa Binh and Ialy hydropower projects and the Quang Trach 1 thermal power project.
