The Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee has approved the land use planning to 2030 for Ninh Hoa town and Van Ninh district on the basis of the adjustment project for the Van Phong Economic Zone to 2040 and vision to 2050.

The Economic Zone will sit on 150,000 ha, including a water surface area of 80,000 ha and a land area of 70,000 ha, and straddle Ninh Hoa town and Van Ninh district. It will become a development center for new industries, especially services, high-end tourism, modern entertainment with casinos, and high-tech industry.

Khanh Hoa aims to build the Van Phong Economic Zone in line with national development strategies in general and the strategy for sustainable development of Vietnam’s economy to 2030 and vision to 2045 in particular.

It will also be environmentally-friendly and effectively exploit its potential, attracting investment to become a new driving force in Khanh Hoa’s development.

According to Mr. Nguyen Huu Nghi, Deputy Head of the Management Board of the Van Phong Economic Zone, the adjustment project is being urgently implemented and is expected to be completed in June for submission to the Prime Minister for approval.
