South Korea’s CS Wind Group, a major wind power equipment maker, will invest $200 million in building a factory in the Mekong Delta's Long An province, the Vietnam News Agency has reported.

The group signed a cooperation agreement on land leasing with Dong Tam Group of Vietnam on September 10.

The factory will cover 50ha in the Southeast Asia Industrial Park in Can Giuoc district.

Under the project, the CS Wind will build the manufacturing factory and assembly yard for offshore and onshore wind towers, as well as wind energy products such as monopiles, transition pieces, and other materials, which will be supplied to the global market.

The factory has an operating capacity of tens of thousands of units annually, the highest in the world by far.

Initially, all of the project’s products, 150,000-200,000 tons per year, are to be exported via Long An International Port.
