Promoting logistics development has been defined as one of five spearhead economic sectors in central Da Nang city, according to local authorities.
Under the city’s draft logistics service development plan, a non-tariff zone and a free trade zone are to be built, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People’s Committee Ho Ky Minh told a recent meeting with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to discuss the draft of a national logistics service development strategy by 2035 with a vision to 2045.
The ministry has worked with localities with the potential to develop logistics services, such as Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Da Nang, Quang Nam, and Thua Thien-Hue, to build the strategy in line with actual conditions to drive logistics growth.
Vietnam posted total trade revenue of $732.5 billion in 2022. Domestic trade has become more robust, requiring the further development of logistics services, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
